Toyota Hilux Performance: Double Wishbone Suspension

When you’ve got a long journey and a heavy load for your next job, it’s great to know that Toyota HiLux is full of advanced engineering, designed to deliver maximum comfort for both driver and passengers. Double wishbone suspension is standard across the range. It is combined with leaf spring and twin tube shock absorbers on the rear to deliver outstanding steering stability while carrying a load. The front suspension also helps to create a smoother, more ‘car-like’ ride, as well as improving off road handling. On all Single-Cab models, the suspension has been designed with dedicated tuning for a stable feeling when you’re carrying a heavy load. Extra and Double-Cab models have a dedicated setting to create a slightly softer, more comfortable ride.

The ‘car-like’ steering you’ll experience in HiLux is thanks to a sophisticated engine speed-sensing rack and pinion power steering configuration. All V6 autos feature AI-SHIFT Control (Artificial Intelligence Shift Control) and Road Condition Support Control. These continuously monitor vehicle and engine speed, acceleration and road conditions to automatically optimise shift changes and patterns to improve drive comfort.
