Uganda Roadworthiness Inspection by JEVIC
The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has appointed JEVIC for the conduct of the pre-export Roadworthiness Inspection (RWI) of used motor vehicles from Japan, United Kingdom, Singapore and South Africa destined for use within the Republic of Uganda.
This inspection was initiated by UNBS to minimize the risk of unsafe and substandard vehicles entering Ugandan market, thus ensuring the health, safety and environmental protection for Ugandans. All used vehicles must meet the UNBS requirements of this important safety pre-export inspection.
The major points of the Uganda RWI encompass;
- The vehicle must pass a safety and mechanical inspection
(similar to the Japanese Periodic Inspection – Shaken) - The vehicle should be free of CFC (R12) gas
